The subject tries to prepare them for adult life and is an essential part of Citizenship. Respect and an acceptance of a diverse and Multi – Cultural world underpin all aspects of the Curriculum. Students are encouraged to watch the news and read newspapers and to be aware of Geography in the news. Borough and National events such as Black History Month , Multi – lingual Month , Refugee Week , Remembrance day etc are also celebrated in the Curriculum.
At Key Stage 4 , all students follow the Welshboard Certificate of Achievement . Students now extend their study to include Travel and Tourism as a contemporary issue. At both Key stages students will receive homework each week to extend and consolidate their subject knowledge. This will include reading , research , worksheets , art work and watching appropriate and relevant television. Joining the local library is highly recommended aswell as reading regularly with your child and discussing the work done at school. |
